A poignant shot of 3 former scouts posed at the battlefield, surrounded by monuments. The scouts are identified on verso as White Man Runs Him, Hairy Moccasin, and Goes Ahead, "three Custer scouts around cross where Custer fell." A similar photograph was published in Dixon's "The Vanishing Race" in 1914.
With--a similar image of the same size, but without the scouts, captioned "Cross where Custer fell, and graves of 7th Cavalry, looking across Little Horn Valley."
